The Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy Master of Arts program at UCF prepares professionals to practice as a marriage and family therapist, supporting couples and families as they enhance communication, resolve conflicts and nurture healthier relationships. Our nationally ranked and CACREP-accredited program combines strong academic preparation with early and ongoing clinical experience to help you build both competence and confidence as a future therapist. The curriculum is intentionally designed to align with Florida Marriage and Family Therapist licensure requirements and national accreditation standards.

You’ll study relational and systems theories, couples and family counseling techniques, assessment and diagnosis strategies, and ethical and professional practices — preparing you to work effectively with individuals, couples and families in various clinical settings.

Your clinical training begins with a supervised practicum at the UCF Community Counseling and Research Center, an on Âé¶¹¾«Æ· S‘campus training clinic that provides counseling services to individuals, couples and families under expert faculty supervision. Following practicum, you will complete program Âé¶¹¾«Æ· S‘approved clinical internships throughout Central Florida, earning 600 total clinical hours.

Graduates of the CACREP Âé¶¹¾«Æ· S‘accredited Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy MA program are prepared to pursue licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist and work in community agencies, hospitals, private practices and other clinical settings. For detailed information, please review the .
