{"id":1978,"date":"2019-01-02T11:05:11","date_gmt":"2019-01-02T16:05:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/downtown\/?post_type=post&#038;p=1978"},"modified":"2025-04-12T18:40:02","modified_gmt":"2025-04-12T18:40:02","slug":"ucf-downtown-seeks-student-ambassadors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/downtown\/ucf-downtown-seeks-student-ambassadors\/","title":{"rendered":"UCF Downtown Seeks Student Ambassadors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Central Florida seeks to fill positions for its new student ambassador team at UCF Downtown for the Spring 2019 semester.\u00a0Ambassadors\u00a0will represent the university to the highest degree and participate in events to usher in the opening of our new campus in downtown Orlando in August 2019.\u00a0Ambassadors\u00a0should\u00a0be well-rounded\u00a0UCF\u00a0students who excel academically while being actively involved in the university life.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" class=\"float-right img-fluid wp-image-1980\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/downtown\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/21\/files\/2019\/01\/ucf_56426176_Medium-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/21\/files\/2019\/01\/ucf_56426176_Medium-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/21\/files\/2019\/01\/ucf_56426176_Medium-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/21\/files\/2019\/01\/ucf_56426176_Medium-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/21\/files\/2019\/01\/ucf_56426176_Medium-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/21\/files\/2019\/01\/ucf_56426176_Medium-360x240.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/21\/files\/2019\/01\/ucf_56426176_Medium.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Serving ten hours a week or less during the semester,\u00a0Ambassadors\u00a0will work to educate UCF students about UCF Downtown through a variety of in-person and online initiatives, including university events and social media marketing.<\/p>\n<p>A successful candidate will have a flexible schedule, be a good communicator, organized, proactive, possess good time management skills and have an eye for detail.\u00a0Students enrolled in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/downtown\/academics\/\">downtown campus major<\/a>\u00a0and with prior internship or work experience is preferred.\u00a0Minimal travel is required for this position, which is based at UCF\u2019s main campus.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<p>Represent UCF Downtown by providing appropriate information to current and incoming UCF students at tabling events, information booths, and outreach events\u00a0like Market Wednesdays\u00a0in collaboration with UCF faculty and staff.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide\u00a0information\u00a0and\u00a0materials, and conduct presentations about the downtown experience to small and large groups such as student clubs, student organizations, and classes.<\/li>\n<li>Attend required regular team meetings to discuss experiences, programs, performance, and ongoing training.<\/li>\n<li>Take into account\u00a0prospective student needs and make referrals to appropriate units.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in planning and execution of (3) student campus events and activities until the opening date in August 2019.<br \/>\nExamples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>UCF\u00a0Night at Lake\u00a0Eola<\/li>\n<li>Downtown Orlando tour + swan boats<\/li>\n<li>Video game knight<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer for UCF Downtown\u00a0events.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with content creation for UCF Downtown social channels, marketing materials and other promotional activities.<\/li>\n<li>Regularly post about UCF Downtown on personal accounts and in university-related groups, i.e., student clubs, organizations, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Expected Qualifications for Student Ambassadors:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Students must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be able to work up to 10 hours per work from January 2019 through August 2019<\/li>\n<li>Have a GPA of 3.0 or above<\/li>\n<li>Be involved in at least two clubs or student activities<\/li>\n<li>Be active on social media<\/li>\n<li>Have a flexible class schedule, in order to attend campus events and activities<\/li>\n<li>Be comfortable with public speaking<\/li>\n<li>Be able to attend events throughout the year<\/li>\n<li>Be able to work independently<\/li>\n<li>Be able to work on teams and with peers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Application Deadline\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>UCF students interested in the Student Ambassador position should send a resume and cover letter to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:UCFDowntown@ucf.edu\">UCFDowntown@ucf.edu<\/a>\u00a0with the subject line: \u201cStudent Ambassador Application\u201d no later than\u00a0Thursday,\u00a0Jan. 10, 2018\u00a0at 5 pm.
