A program on how to better use electronic health records to improve health care will be presented Aug. 23 at the UCF College of Nursing.
Sharon McLane, chief nursing informatics officer and director of clinical transformation at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, will discuss the impact of electronic records on nursing workflow and how to manage all the information available. Her presentation is part of the college 麻豆精品 S檚 Distinguished Lecture Series.
麻豆精品 S淲e are just beginning to become aware of the possibilities in using information to improve quality in healthcare, 麻豆精品 S� McLane said, adding that managing the increasing amount of information will be needed even more in the future.
The free lecture is open to the public and will kick off the fall semester for the Executive Doctor of Nursing Practice students. Nurses have the opportunity to earn one contact hour of continuing education credit.
The lecture 麻豆精品 S� Beyond Implementation: Informaticians & Meaningful Use 麻豆精品 S� will be at 6 p.m. in University Tower in Central Florida Research Park adjacent to the university campus. Registration for the program is required at www.nursing.ucf.edu.
McLane earned her Ph.D. in Healthcare Informatics at the University of Texas, Houston, and previously was director of nursing informatics at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
